Dr. Ryan Cavazos

 

Dr. Ryan Cavazos has fulfilled his heart for education since 2001. His passion for coaching led him to work as an athletic director and head coach with various districts where he also taught Spanish and served as assistant principal and principal.

 

Dr. Cavazos came to Waxahachie ISD in 2016, where he served as the principal of Challenge Academy/High School of Choice. He transitioned to Howard for the 2018-19 school year.

 

Dr. Cavazos has excellent leadership skills and fosters a comfortable, collaborative work environment where every member of the Howard team works together to help students succeed.

 

Dr. Cavazos earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from Southwestern Assemblies of God University. In 2020, he received his doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership from Abilene Christian University. His doctoral dissertation was titled, "The Relationship Between Exclusionary Discipline, Race, Socioeconomic Status, and Graduation Rates at 4A, 5A, and 6A High Schools."

 

Dr. Cavazos has been married to his wife, Stephanie, since 2001, and they have two daughters. Their oldest, Taylor and youngest Ashlyn, are both enrolled in WISD schools. With both daughters competing in volleyball, the Cavazos family has tight-knit relationships with the local athletic community. He enjoys attending Waxahachie High School athletic events and loves to read, play golf, and watch movies.

      Karina White, M.Ed.

       

      Mrs. White began her career in education at Waxahachie Junior High School in the year 2000. While at WJHS (which later became Finley Junior High School), she taught seventh and eighth-grade Technology Applications and seventh and eighth-grade ELAR. After 15 years in the classroom, Mrs. White took on the role of Secondary ELAR Curriculum Coordinator for Waxahachie ISD, where she served for three years. In the summer of 2018, Mrs. White joined the Howard family as an assistant principal. Mrs. White is bilingual and bi-literate in Spanish and English and attended Southwestern Assemblies of God University, where she earned her bachelor's and master's degrees.  Mrs. White and her husband, Mark, have three amazing children who attend WISD schools. Mrs. White loves country music, especially Brad Paisley and Keith Urban, and she loves to spend time watching musicals (especially ones in which her children are performing).

      Christopher Lynch, M.Ed.

       

      Mr. Lynch earned his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Texas at Tyler and a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. He began his educational career in 2015 as a Teacher-Coach in Tyler ISD. He has also served as the Assistant Principal and Discipline Coordinator at his alma mater Chapel Hill High School in Tyler, TX. Mr. Lynch has been married to his wife, Stacie, since 2012. They have two daughters, the oldest, Mckinna, and the youngest, Abigail. Mr. Lynch is a huge supporter of seeing his students excel academically,  in extracurricular activities, and in life. He believes in building positive relationships with students, teachers, and stakeholders toward providing the most effective and engaging learning environment possible.
