WHS senior Owen Bartosh has accomplished an exceptional feat; he has become a winner of the 2024 National Merit Scholarship! Owen was one of the 1.3 million participants who took the PSAT in October 2022, and his high scores allowed him to advance in the scholarship competition along with 50,000 other participants. In September 2023, he was named one of the 16,000 Semifinalists, meaning he had to complete the National Merit Scholarship application materials. Owen met all the scholarship requirements and advanced to the Finalist round in this highly competitive scholarship competition. The National Merit Scholarship winners were selected from the group of Finalists based on their abilities, skills, and accomplishments. Owen’s win is a testament to his exceptional abilities, as just over 0.5% of the 1.3 million scholarship contest entrants earn a National Merit Scholarship.
