Waxahachie ISD Names Principal of WHS

The Waxahachie ISD Board of Trustees voted this evening to name Jacob Perry the principal of Waxahachie High School. Mr. Perry has been serving in the role of interim principal since November 2023.
 
Before assuming the role of interim principal, Mr. Perry served as the Director of Student and Campus Services for WISD. He has been in education for 23 years, 15 of which have been in various roles throughout Waxahachie ISD. Mr. Perry has served in roles including teacher, coach, assistant principal, principal, Director of Curriculum & Instruction, Director of Facilities & Operations, and Assistant Superintendent.
 
“Mr. Perry has done a phenomenal job at WHS over the past four months, and we are excited to welcome him to the role permanently,” said Dr. Jerry Hollingsworth, Superintendent of Waxahachie ISD. “I have no doubt his cultural and instructional leadership will continue to benefit the students and staff of WHS throughout his tenure.”
 
Mr. Perry holds a bachelor’s degree from East Texas Baptist University, a master’s degree from Texas A&M Commerce, and a superintendent certification from the University of North Texas. Mr. Perry has been married to his wife, Amy, for 22 years, and they have three sons: Caleb (WHS ’22), Chance (WHS ’24), and Colt (WHS ’28).
