WISD Names Director of Curriculum
The Waxahachie ISD Board of Trustees named Brandee Morris as the WISD Director of Curriculum at their
regular meeting on July 14, 2025.
Mrs. Morris has over twenty years of experience in education. From 2005-2012 she served as a classroom
teacher for Duncanville ISD, Life School, and Red Oak ISD. In 2012 she became the Assistant Principal of Life School Cedar Hill, and from 2015 to present, she has been the Curriculum and Textbook Coordinator for Life School Administration. Brandee brings a strong background of K-12 leadership, curriculum development, and campus-level administration. Her leadership style is rooted in positivity, collaboration, and a deep commitment to student growth. She is a two-time district award winner for her data-oriented mindset and has been honored as both a campus and district teacher of the year.
Mrs. Morris graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Program Management from the University of North Texas in 2000, and later returned there to achieve her Master of Education in Educational Administration in 2009.
WISD Assistant Superintendent of Learning, Stephanie Heimbuch said of Morris, “Brandee brings a tremendous depth of knowledge and a diverse range of experiences to Waxahachie ISD. Her background spans multiple grade levels, subject areas, and includes valuable campus leadership roles. I am thrilled to welcome Brandee into this position as we continue the vital work of ensuring growth and success for every student in WISD.”
WISD Superintendent Becky McCutchen said, “With a strong background that includes experience as a teacher, campus administrator, and most recently as a curriculum coordinator, Mrs. Morris possesses a comprehensive understanding of instructional leadership. Her expertise will play a vital role in shaping and enhancing the district’s instructional programs. As curriculum serves as the cornerstone of academic success, Mrs. Morris will be instrumental in advancing the quality of instruction for all students across the district.” Mrs. Morris said, “I am honored to join the staff and community of Waxahachie ISD. I look forward to working together as we continue building a culture of academic excellence and student success through strong relationships, intentional & consistent instruction, and a shared passion for learning.”
Brandee enjoys spending time with her husband, Jason, and their two daughters, Dylynn and Ryen.
