Waxahachie ISD Names Interim Assistant Superintendent of Learning, Interim Director of Special Services
Waxahachie ISD announced today that Stephanie Heimbuch, currently Executive Director of Special Services, has been named the interim Assistant Superintendent of Learning. Heimbuch’s assistant director, Erin Edmondson, will become the interim Director of Special Services.
“Mrs. Heimbuch and Mrs. Edmondson are a dynamic duo, and their knowledge and expertise will greatly benefit students and staff alike as they take on new areas of our district’s operations. Additionally, they are well-versed in our district’s systems and bring continuity to the leadership of these vital departments,” said Dr. Jerry D. Hollingsworth, Waxahachie ISD Superintendent. “Mrs. Heimbuch has served in many roles during her 30 years in public education that have prepared her to take on this role, including teacher, curriculum coordinator, campus administrator, and Executive Director of Special Services. Mrs. Edmondson is passionate about special education and her experience will continue to benefit the department greatly. We are grateful for both of these educators.”
These moves come after WISD’s current Assistant Superintendent of Learning, Dr. Dustin Binnicker, was hired by Leander ISD last night as their Assistant Superintendent for Pathways and Innovation.
“Dr. Binnicker has been an incredible leader during his five years in Waxahachie ISD,” said Hollingsworth. “Most recently, he guided our district through the transition to high-quality instructional materials and gave so much of himself during that process. In making the move to Leander ISD, Dr. Binnicker will be able to be a part of the district where his children go to school, and while we are very excited for his family, our district will certainly miss his leadership and expertise.”
