At a special meeting this morning, the Waxahachie ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved the hiring of Michael Williams as the new principal of Howard Junior High School.

“Michael Williams is a servant leader with extensive experience leading Professional Learning Communities,” said Dr. Jerry Hollingsworth, Waxahachie ISD Superintendent. “We are confident that Mr. Williams will be a great leader for Howard Junior High and will nurture instructional excellence at Howard.”

Mr. Williams holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in teaching, both from the University of Utah. He and his wife have two children, a daughter, age 20, and a son, age 17.

“I am grateful for the opportunity and am extremely excited to come to Howard Junior High,” said Mr. Williams. “I look forward to being a part of what the Howard staff is doing each day to make a difference in students’ lives.”
