Waxahachie ISD Hires Principal for Howard Junior High School

At a special meeting this morning, the Waxahachie ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved the hiring of Michael Williams as the new principal of Howard Junior High School.

Mr. Williams has more than 15 years of experience in public education in North Texas. He is currently an assistant principal at Forney High School and has also served as an assistant principal at Cleburne High School and as a teacher and coach in Mansfield ISD.

“Michael Williams is a servant leader with extensive experience leading Professional Learning Communities,” said Dr. Jerry Hollingsworth, Waxahachie ISD Superintendent. “We are confident that Mr. Williams will be a great leader for Howard Junior High and will nurture instructional excellence at Howard.”

Mr. Williams holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in teaching, both from the University of Utah. He and his wife have two children, a daughter, age 20, and a son, age 17.

“I am grateful for the opportunity and am extremely excited to come to Howard Junior High,” said Mr. Williams. “I look forward to being a part of what the Howard staff is doing each day to make a difference in students’ lives.”
