Cold and Flu Season

We understand that many of you are currently dealing with illnesses. To help everyone stay healthy, please review our list of health practices and procedures. 

  • If sick, stay home.
    • WISD policy states that fever greater than 100 degrees and diarrhea require automatic exclusion from school.
    • Students must be free from symptoms for 24 hours without medication to return to class.
  • It is important and not too late to get immunized for the flu.
  • Proper handwashing with soap and water is extremely crucial.
    • Use hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available.
  • Keep hands away from face and mouth and abstain from nail-biting.
  • Always remember to cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze.
  • Proper rest and nutrition are essential to a healthy immune system.
    • Eat foods that support immunity, such as vitamin C, broccoli, yogurt, and whole grains.
  • Get plenty of exercise and spend time outdoors every day to help support your immune system.
