Waxahachie Independent School District is thrilled to announce that Ms. Rebecca "Becky" McCutchen will officially commence her role as Superintendent of Schools on June 1, 2025. Over the past month, Ms. McCutchen has been diligently familiarizing herself with our Directors, principals, and staff, and has already begun to make meaningful connections within our school community.
In May Ms. McCutchen had the pleasure of attending the Go Texan event at the Texas Theater, where they had the opportunity to meet many of our esteemed city leaders. Additionally, they toured several of our campuses, including Marvin Biomedical, Jimmie Ray Elementary, and Howard Junior High. Ms. McCutchen's commitment to understanding our schools and engaging with our educators is truly commendable.
Throughout June, Ms. McCutchen will continue to visit and tour the remaining campuses for a comprehensive understanding of all our educational environments. She will also begin to form valuable relationships with the City of Waxahachie and Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce leaders.
To officially welcome Ms. McCutchen to our community, WISD is hosting a reception on Thursday, June 12th, from 4-6 pm in the WISD Administration Board Room. We warmly invite the community to join us in greeting our new Superintendent and to share in the excitement of this new chapter for our district.
