Creating Student Success and Opportunity In Waxahachie ISD

A second comprehensive high school in Waxahachie ISD will provide more students with opportunities to participate in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, academic extracurricular programs, fine arts, and athletics.

• Approximately 75% of current WHS students participate in at least one extracurricular activity.
• There are a limited number of spots available for student participation in these programs, no matter how large or small the school is.  Opening a second comprehensive high school will effectively double the number of spots available for student participation.
• CTE programs prepare students for college and career opportunities and offer them the training to become certified in a number of different areas, such as:
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
  • Pharmacy Technician
  • Welding
  • Educational Aide
  • Cosmetology
