Digital Citizenship

WISD expects students to treat assigned devices and accessories with the utmost care. Students need to ensure these items are fully charged and ready for use in each class period. Students have the option to opt out of the program if they prefer to use their personal laptops or Chromebooks. However, smartphones are not considered acceptable devices for opting out.
It is the responsibility of students to notify their campus administrator, teacher, or campus library media specialist about any issues with their devices. These issues can range from screen breakage and missing keys to lost or stolen devices/chargers, broken chargers, or any other problems that affect the functionality of the device or charger. In the event of breakage or misuse of an uninsured assigned device, users are responsible for covering the costs associated with the repair or replacement of the mobile device, related parts, and accessories.
Improving User Experience
The mission of the Waxahachie ISD Technology Department is to enhance the end-user experience while maintaining an impressive reliability rate of 99.999%. We strive to deliver the highest quality customer, campus, and legacy hardware, software, and infrastructure service support for all district users. Additionally, we aim to facilitate technology integration across all areas of the curriculum to elevate learning to the application level, ensuring our students are college-ready, career-ready, and equipped for the 21st century.
Our support functions encompass planning, procurement, funding and budget management, technology delivery, project management, and the coordination of WISD capital improvement program-related activities. In an increasingly digital learning environment, the Technology Department is dedicated to serving our students, staff, and the community. We invite you to contact us in person or online for any assistance you may need.
