WISD Names Principal of Waxahachie High

The Waxahachie ISD Board of Trustees named Tony Escoto as the Principal of Waxahachie High School at their regular meeting on December 15, 2025.

Mr. Escoto has over 22 years of experience in public education. For the first ten years of his career, he was a science teacher working in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD and Lewisville ISD. In 2013, he became an Assistant Principal for Lewisville ISD and then later moved to Frisco ISD as an Assistant Principal there. For the last four years, Mr. Escoto has served at Waxahachie High School as an Assistant Principal and subsequently Associate Principal.

Mr. Escoto holds a Bachelor's of Arts Degree from the University of North Texas, as well as a Master's of Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University.

WISD Superintendent Becky McCutchen said, “Tony Escoto brings 22 years of experience in education and a proven record of leadership at the high school level to Waxahachie High School. His commitment to academic excellence, strong campus culture, and meaningful relationships with students, staff, and families aligns perfectly with the proud tradition of WHS. We are excited for the future under Mr. Escoto’s leadership as he builds upon the school’s strong foundation.”

I am truly honored and excited to serve as the principal of Waxahachie High School. WHS has a strong tradition of excellence, and I look forward to building on that foundation by supporting our students, staff, and families.

Tony and his wife, Casey (1st-grade teacher at Wilemon STEAM), have two children, Ethan (7th grader at Coleman Junior High), and Emma (2nd grader at Wilemon STEAM).
