WISD Launches New Virtual Instruction Program

Offering Flexible, Full-Time Online Learning for High School Students

Waxahachie ISD is excited to announce that applications are now open for the district’s new Virtual Instruction Program (VIP), a full-time online learning option designed to meet the diverse needs of today's students and families.

After extensive planning and development, the district has officially launched the program for eligible students in grades 9-12. The VIP combines the flexibility of online learning with the high academic standards, dedicated support, and student-centered approach that families have come to expect from Waxahachie ISD.

Success does not follow a single path, and neither does Waxahachie ISD. The Virtual Instruction Program reflects our commitment to providing innovative opportunities that allow every student to learn in an environment that best supports their individual goals, circumstances, and aspirations. Becky McCutchen, Superintendent of Schools

We have a unique opportunity with Alternative Learning in WISD.  While each program we have serves a different purpose, they all share the same heart: helping students overcome obstacles, discover opportunities, and build successful futures. We do this knowing that every student has a pathway; we goal to help them find the best one forward. Lee Coleman, Principal

The program has been thoughtfully developed over several months to ensure that all aspects of the student experience are in place before enrollment opens. From the application process and enrollment workflow to student orientation and daily operational procedures, district staff has worked diligently to create a seamless and supportive virtual learning environment.

The Virtual Instruction Program is available to eligible students who reside within Waxahachie ISD
attendance boundaries or qualify through approved transfer guidelines. The program offers students an alternative pathway to earning a high-quality education while remaining connected to Waxahachie ISD through our Alternative Learning Virtual programs via online instruction.

Families interested in learning more about the program can explore detailed information regarding academics, technology requirements, student expectations, program benefits, and the application process on the district's website. Applications for the upcoming semester are currently open and will remain available through July 31.

Prospective families are encouraged to complete the Interest Declaration Form and submit their application as early as possible to allow adequate time for enrollment and onboarding before the start of the semester.
