Waxahachie ISD Awarded 2025 TPS Safety Grant

Waxahachie Independent School District was awarded $20,000 to purchase additional automated external defibrillators (AEDs) for use across campuses and district facilities. While every WISD campus is already equipped with an AED, these grant funds will allow the district to add additional devices at several larger, multi‑level campuses with greater square footage, further enhancing emergency preparedness.

The district extends its sincere appreciation to Director of Health Services Melissa Bousquet, RN, BSN, for her proactive leadership and dedication in securing this grant to support student and staff safety.  WISD is also grateful for the comprehensive and well-established partnership with Texas Political Subdivisions JSIF (TPS).

Texas Political Subdivisions JSIF is committed to helping current Fund members receive the tools/equipment/training necessary to implement safe work practices and develop a solid loss prevention program. This is accomplished by providing Fund members with financial assistance to obtain resources that can reduce the severity and frequency of losses.
