Safe & Efficient Transit of Students

Waxahachie ISD is pleased to provide bus transportation as a privilege to all students who meet eligibility requirements during the regular school year. Student eligibility for bus service is determined in accordance with Board policy.

Program Details

Guidelines

The first two weeks of school will be dedicated to training and reminding students about the badges before consequences are implemented.
Students who do not have a badge for the first time in 9 weeks will receive a verbal warning from the driver.
Students who do not have a badge for the second time in 9 weeks will receive a written warning from the driver. The campus will receive an email, and the parent will receive a phone call and a letter from transportation.
Students who do not have a badge for the third time in 9 weeks will be suspended from the bus for the remainder of the semester.

Transportation Procedures

ID Badge Distribution and Use

At the start of each school year, every student will be issued a photo ID badge at no cost. This badge, featuring a unique student number, is used to account for students accessing transportation services and serves to easily identify students in common areas of the campus. The badge may also be used for other campus-specific purposes as determined by the administration.

Our goal is to make bus transportation a positive and enriching part of every student’s educational experience. We are dedicated to offering safe, comfortable, and pleasant rides while maintaining the highest standards of efficiency.

Successful and effective transportation depends on the cooperation of bus drivers, staff, school administrators, and parents or guardians.
