Transition services are a coordinated set of activities that focus on the courses of study available in high school, facilitating students' movement toward their post-high school goals. IDEA 2004 requires that a student’s IEP must address transition before the child turns 14. The ARD committee should develop measurable goals based on appropriate assessment in the areas of training, education, employment, and, when appropriate, independent living. Our goal at WISD is to provide individualized transition services that create opportunities for successful futures and post-school outcomes.
