The Waxahachie ISD Bilingual Program focuses on guiding English language learners toward proficiency in English while enhancing literacy and academic skills in both Spanish and English. Likewise, the ESL Program empowers students to master English using effective second language instructional strategies. Together, these programs are committed to developing bilingual, bicultural, and biliterate students who are prepared to be lifelong learners and make meaningful contributions in a diverse, multicultural society.

The Texas English Language Learners Portal, sponsored by the Texas Education Agency, is an initiative under the Limited English Proficient Student Success Initiative, as authorized by Senate Bill 1 of the General Appropriations Act, Article III, Rider 62, and the Texas Education Code §§21.457 and 39.0241(d). The LEP-SSI grant is designed to offer intensive instructional programs for Limited English Proficient students, as well as specialized teacher training resources focused on effective strategies for teaching LEP students.
