Operation Full Plate began in November 2025 when a federal government shutdown resulted in a pause in SNAP benefits for families across the country. With nearly half of Waxahachie ISD students identified as economically disadvantaged, our community recognized the need to help bridge the gap.
In partnership with CARE Services and generous community members, Operation Full Plate provided more than 200 families with meals during the 2025 Thanksgiving break.
Operation Full Plate now focuses on providing food assistance during Winter Break, when students are out of school for an extended period without access to their free or reduced-price school meals. Through the generosity of our community, the program helps ensure families have access to nutritious food throughout the break.
