Inventory Distribution

Responsible for Property

The Waxahachie ISD Asset Management team is responsible for maintaining, distributing, and cataloging the district’s inventory, as well as overseeing surplus property. According to Board Policy CI (Local), any district materials, equipment, personal property—including vehicles—and supplies deemed unnecessary are eligible for disposal.

Surplus

Throughout the year, the Asset Management team systematically collects excess and obsolete items from campuses and departments, catalogs them, and prepares them for public sale through an online auction service. Items offered for auction may include student chairs, desks, tables, office furniture, technology, athletic equipment, vehicles, mowers, and other assets that possess residual value.

Surplus equipment is sold via Public Surplus, an online auction platform. Buyers are responsible for arranging the transportation of purchased items, as WISD does not provide delivery services. The auction site contains specific information regarding auction schedules and requirements for item removal. All inquiries related to surplus equipment must be directed to the auctioneer. Auctions are conducted on an ongoing basis, and new items are regularly added to the site.
