Inventory Distribution

Responsible for Property

The Waxahachie ISD Asset Management team is responsible for maintaining, distributing, and cataloging the district’s inventory, as well as overseeing surplus property. According to Board Policy CI (Local), any district materials, equipment, personal property—including vehicles—and supplies deemed unnecessary are eligible for disposal.

Throughout the year, the Asset Management team collects excess and obsolete items from campuses and departments, catalogues them, and prepares them for public sale via an online auction service. Auctioned items may include student chairs, desks, tables, office furniture, technology, athletic equipment, vehicles, mowers, and other assets that retain residual value.

Surplus equipment is sold through Public Surplus, an online auction platform. Purchasers are responsible for arranging the transportation of their items, as WISD does not provide delivery services. The auction site provides details regarding auction timelines and item removal requirements. All inquiries related to surplus equipment should be directed to the auctioneer. Auctions are ongoing, and new items are regularly added to the site.
