Communicating with the Board

The initial and most effective way to address a concern is to engage in direct communication with the individual involved, such as a teacher or coach. Most issues can be resolved through a constructive conversation between the relevant parties.

The next people to contact are the campus principal and assistant principals responsible for the school's overall operation. Detailed explanations of policies, procedures, and other clarifications can be accessed in the campus administration offices.

If the campus level contacts have not resolved the concern, the Central Office Administration, which may include a director, assistant superintendent, or superintendent, may be consulted.

To ensure proper procedure, the Waxahachie ISD Board of Trustees may be contacted only after communication has occurred with the appropriate campus contacts and district administration. Requests to engage the Board should be submitted by seeking a hearing through the superintendent’s office. The Waxahachie ISD Board of Trustees serves as the appellate authority for the resolution of disputes. Should a board member have prior involvement in the matter before the hearing, they may elect to recuse themselves from participating in the hearing.

For an item to be placed on the agenda for consideration and action by the Board, it must be submitted by a Board member or the Superintendent. Should you have information you wish to present to the Board, multiple avenues are available to you.

Citizens may communicate with Board members via email.

Board Meetings

Complete a "Registration to Speak in Open Forum" form, available at a regular school board meeting before it begins. Citizens will be permitted to speak during the "public comments" portion of the agenda.
