§89.1201 The goal of the Waxahachie ISD Bilingual Program is to enable English language learners to become competent in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in the English language through the development of literacy and academic skills in the primary language (Spanish) and English. 

The goal of the Waxahachie ISD ESL Program is to enable English language learners to become competent in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in the English language through the integrated use of second language methods.

We believe that we will develop bilingual, bicultural, biliterate lifelong learners that are capable of functioning in and contributing to a multicultural society.
 

Dual Language Kindergarten for opt-in students is full for the 2018-19 school year. No applications will be accepted.

The Gomez Dual Language Enrichment Model
The Gomez and Gomez Dual Language Enrichment Model is the program adopted by Waxahachie ISD.  This site is the official Dual Language Institute site which offers many resources and information pertaining to the model and the founders of the model.  
 
This website, Texas English Language Learners Portal, is sponsored by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and is part of a Limited English Proficient Student Success Initiative (LEP-SSI), Authorized by Senate Bill 1, General Appropriations Act, Article 111, Rider 62, and Texas Education Code §21.457 and §39.0241(d).
The purpose of the LEP-SSI grant is to provide intensive programs of instruction for Limited English proficient (LEP) students and teacher training resources specific to instruction of LEP students.
