Public Information Requests

Waxahachie ISD, as a local government entity, is subject to the requirements of the Texas Public Information Act.  Texas law gives you the right to access government records and government officials may not ask why you want them. All government information is presumed to be available to the public. Certain exceptions may apply to the disclosure of the information. Governmental bodies shall promptly release requested information that is not confidential by law or information for which an exception to disclosure has not been sought. Charges will be applied as provided by Board Policy.

All requests must be made in writing and should contain:

  • Your name
  • Address
  • Phone number
  • Email or fax number (if applicable)
  • Description of the information and/or document being requested.  Include enough detail about the information requested to enable the governmental body to accurately identify and locate the items requested.  Please cooperate with the governmental body's reasonable efforts to clarify the type or amount of information requested.

 

Requests for transcripts and diplomas should be directed to the campus.  Requests for student education records for students currently enrolled in the District should be directed to the campus principal. All other requests must be sent as follows:
