Past Bond Elections
Waxahachie ISD has fulfilled its commitments to the community by completing the projects for the 2015 and 2018 bonds on time and on budget.
Voters approved the 2018 bond issue of $23 million to build Max H. Simpson Elementary, the district’s ninth elementary school. Simpson Elementary opened in August 2020 in one of the active areas of growth in the district, the North Grove subdivision.
In 2015, voters approved a bond issue of $125 million by a 3-to-1 margin. The projects paid for by this bond, all of which have been completed, include:
- New Waxahachie High School building
- Renovations to former WHS building to become Coleman Junior High
- Renovations to Finley Junior High to provide a new track and field facility and updates to the façade of the building
- Renovations to the Turner building to house full-day pre-kindergarten
