Author Casey Hymen joined our GT students for Super Saturday to talk about her book, The Marvelous Macki Brown.  Students were able to ask her questions about what inspired her to write her book, the process of writing, and the challenges she has faced to become a published writer!

Ms. Hyman shared that her inspiration is her adopted daughter and the idea for the book came from her own desire to give her daughter and other minority children a character they can relate to.  Ms. Hyman challenged the students to look for heroes in their everyday life.  You can join Macki Brown and her search for heroes at her very own webpage!
