HOSA students rise above the competition at area conference

11 future health professional students pose in suits at leadership conference

Students from the Career and Technical student organization HOSA represented the district at the HOSA Area Spring Leadership Conference on January 31 and February 1 in McKinney.

HOSA-Future Health Professionals serve students enrolled in CTE courses aligned with the health science career cluster. Participants the experience of application of classroom knowledge and laboratory lessons in hands-on activities or competitive events.

After qualifying as top competitors in the first round of online testing, students participated in a variety of healthcare competitions against nearly 2,000 students from around the DFW area. 

Waxahachie High School was well represented, and the district is very proud of their hard work and efforts.

Students who qualified for the state competition will travel to Galveston on April 1-3 to test their skills against competitors from across Texas.

WISD proudly supports these students, teachers, and organizations.  Curnecia Polk and Andrea Briggs will represent Waxahachie HOSA students at the state conference.
