Waxahachie ISD will host an informative meeting pertinent for incoming 2020 ninth-grade students.
All Coleman, Finley, and Howard Junior High eighth-grade students and their parents are encouraged to get a head start on success. Attendees will gain information about opportunities offered at Global and Waxahachie High School. Students and parents will learn about graduation career pathways and other activities offered at WISD campuses.
“By encouraging students to focus their course of study, students attain the knowledge and skills necessary to become college and career-ready,” CTE Director Dustin Binnicker said. “Your high school graduation plan is tailored to what you want to do, so picking an area of interest or skill that you want to focus on in high school will help you reach that goal.”
Students will also receive course selection information for the upcoming ninth-grade school year.
Career and Technical Education classrooms will be available for parents and students to tour. Campus clubs and organizations will also be available to discuss programs.
Teachers, administrators, and counselors from Global and Waxahachie High School will provide valuable insight for helping students and parents make decisions on their futures.
The course selection information meeting will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 14 from 6:30 — 8 p.m. at the Waxahachie High School Performing Arts Center.
