At its regular meeting Monday night, the Waxahachie ISD Board of Trustees named Monica James as the district’s Executive Director of Human Resources.
Ms. James comes to Waxahachie ISD with nearly 20 years of human resource experience in school districts. Most recently, Ms. James has been the Director of Human Resources for College Station ISD, a position which she has held for the past five years. Ms. James has also served in key human resources roles in Manor ISD and Round Rock ISD.
“To hire someone of Ms. James’s caliber is an outstanding opportunity for Waxahachie ISD,” said Interim Superintendent Dr. Bonny Cain. “Ms. James has a solid track record in school district HR, and I am eagerly awaiting her accomplishments in Waxahachie ISD.”
In this new role for the district, Ms. James will oversee all aspects of the human resource program and will report directly to the superintendent. The district will also hire an Associate Director of Human Resources in the coming months.
Deputy Superintendent Lee Auvenshine will remain with the district as General Counsel, and will continue to supervise the Security, Nursing, and Partners in Education/Community Education departments, with the addition of Little Chiefs Academy and Grants Management.
