1.
What is deadline for getting on voluntary transfer list?
The last day to get ON the transfer list
with out principal permission is June 1st. After that,
the principals must come to an agreement about a release date.
2.
If you put yourself on voluntary transfer list, can you specify a
grade level? a specific school? Yes, you
will get to request your campus and grade level you want. Just
because you request, does not mean a principal can not speak to you
about another campus.
3.
When will the interview process begin? This
is hard to say due to staffing plans being tied to this process.
However, some interviews may start as early as March.
4.
Will schools know their projections for number of classes per grade
level before interviews begin? Not
necessarily, but more than likely this will happen simultaneously.
5.
Will Felty be allowed to interview first and will Felty be allowed
to select unlimited number of faculty/staff from a specific school.
This is a yes and no answer. Yes, they will more than likely be
first to interview since they will have the most to hire. No, there
are set limits to make sure only a certain number of staff can be
taken.
6. If
a current district employee wishes to apply for a vacancy at another
school, do they put themselves on voluntary transfer list or
just notify HR of interest with letter and resume?
The employee must put themselves on the transfer list in order to be
considered for a position.
7.
When does the “seniority” begin? Mr. Rodriguez told us at meeting
that seniority began when he gave me a verbal OK to be hired. I
have never spoken to Mr. Rodriguez and picked up my contract from S.
Burkhalter, signed it and returned it to her. What is the date of
my hiring? We are going to use the date that
is in the employee’s file for those hired previous to July 2007. We
will be sending the dates to campus principals to assist them in
identifying the reassignment teachers.
8. Is
there a list of already re-assigned teachers? “Someone” from
Northside told me there was such a list? I
am not sure what the question is asking, but if it is asking if the
reassignment list has already be started for next year, that is
incorrect. With no staffing plans, there are no reassignment
teachers.
9. If
I put my name on list and I interview and am offered a position—then
I found out that I am still needed at my current school, may I go
back to my current school or must I stay at new school?
If an employee chooses to transfer, then you will not be allowed to
return back to the campus for the next year. If the teacher was a
reassignment teacher, the principals will have the option to recall
the teacher, but will not be required to do so. IF the principal and
the teacher want to come back and it is before June 1st
then this is an option to consider. Other variables may come in to
play that would prevent the teacher from returning to the campus.
